In My Darkest

In My Darkest
In Autumn, yours is the last
flower still clinging to color

A flower

writhing in death’s arid wind
as dirt flesh parches, raises,
and cracks
but with crippled fight

your rooted moisture infuses
yellow sun
green pine
well into frost
